ESG - is the short form for the German Einscheiben-Sicherheitsglass - one-pane safety glass. This kind of glass resists to impacts, temperature changes and severe bending loads. It is therefore often used as a construction element. In case of breaking, the whole glass pane dissolves into a great number of blunt-edged fragments, which are still loosely connected among each other. Thus, serious injuries can be avoided.
